I'm telling you- this guy can do it all. A day off work, and he is in a bad mood if he is not outside doing something. Today- an outside garbage can holder thingy built with the wood left over from the shed he tore down and some tin from the barn that he took down. Busy, busy, busy! (Still waiting on that screened porch... I love you :) )
All about my life with my soul mate, my 8- going on 18 year old daughter, my oh- so- happy 1 year old son, and our 'tripawd' dog, Abel.

And so it begins...
So, at about 4 o'clock this morning, I woke up to this guy going crazy kicking me- and he wouldn't stop. I finally got up about 4:45 to empty my bladder and try to give him a little more room to move around, but that just didn't help at all. By 6, My tummy was hurting- it didn't take me long to realize I was absolutely starving!! As soon as I got Ashlyn and Daniel off at 6:45, I fixed myself a nice breakfast and completely inhaled it. I felt so much better, and Kittrell even calmed down. I guess now is the start of 'midnight snacks', or in my case, 4 a.m. snacks... or whenever I wake up in the middle of the night with a hungry tummy and kicking baby. After my breakfast, needless to say I laid down on my couch and crashed for about an hour to catch up from last night. I think I'm finally back on track. So I'm going to be back to eating and no sleeping- I was hoping only Ashlyn did that to me, not Kittrell, too!
A girl is never satisfied...
While waiting on Daniel to find the correct hardware to hang this ridiculously heavy mirror on my wall (something I had the bright idea to do..) I've had nothing but time on my hands. Which means I'm going to change my mind a few times about where I want it. Which means I'm probably going to move furniture.. and before you know it we have a completely new living room and dining room. I'm sure Ashlyn wished she would have missed the bus home yesterday because when she walked in the house I had several pieces of furniture that I needed her help to move. She was a trooper, though, and was happy to help... After all, she is the one that constantly asks me, "Should you be doing that? Since you're pregnant and all?" No matter what it is I'm doing. It's sweet. I've decided this is the perfect spot for the mirror- in my dining room.
Those of you who have had the joy of visiting our home know this by seeing this picture- since the couch is in the dining room now (where I had originally wanted it in the first place but after Daniel's opinions it ended up in the living room), yes- we have a new look in the living room.. nothing too special. Here's a little pic to get an idea.
I've decided that I need some big vases. Some pretty decorative ones. I have several spots throughout the house that I could put them. Hopefully Daniel and I will be going by an estate sale tomorrow in Meridian at an antique dealer's home and find some fabulous things. I hope!!! And I guess I can put the treadmill away finally, since it's actually nice enough to go walking outside!!!
Daniel asked me if the whole re-arranging of furniture would last forever. I assured him it wouldn't. But then again, I am a female, and well, I'm never satisfied. With that being said- I think I will paint some more pictures today. I need some more art on my walls.

If I Were President...
Ashlyn's school work she brought home today:
If I were President...
I would pray for the soldiers that died.
I would take food and stuff and toys to everyone.
I am the leader of the U.S.A.
I would buy a cat, dog, and a bear.
The Army will have to follow me.
President Ashlyn Michele Upchurch
(I don't know why, but when I uploaded this photo it turned sideways.. oh well- this one's going up on my art wall!!)
It's official!
Spring Break 2011 has officially been planned! Memphis- here we come. I know I said I was putting off St. Patty's Day in Memphis this year due to the whole pregnancy thing, but hey- this mama can still have a good time! So it will be Ashlyn and Kittrell's first St. Patrick's Day done right in good ole' Memphis, TN. Of course, we will throw in a trip to the zoo (weather- please stay pretty!), maybe Graceland, and definitely going to have to check out Ben and Anna's new store downtown, Hoot + Louise. (I hear it's fabulous!) Ashlyn and I are getting excited!! So- watch out Memphis. The Barner sisters will be there- together- very soon. And I expect to get my usual table at Silky's. (This is also going to be a great way to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of when my wonderful husband made me the happiest girl in the world and asked me to be his wife. :) I love you!!)
Thank Goodness for Kids..
Ashlyn reminded me last night that my birthday was coming up. "Oh, yeah. 25. Wow," I said. "Mom, you're going to be 26," Ashlyn said. Thank goodness I have her to keep up with me. After all, I'm pretty sure she is the number one reason as to why my memory is fading so quickly, so she owes me big time.
On another note, Daniel and I have been talking about what pretty plants and trees and flowers to plant. Remember- we have only lived here since the fall, so I've been anxious to see what all these stick trees I've been looking at all winter really are. Much to our surprise, when we got home Sunday, this is what the "stick tree" in our front yard is beginning to look like. Lucky us! One less tree to plant!
