Party, Party, Party!

I definitely learned something new this past weekend. I'm the oldest 26 year old I know. Because I'm still hurting this morning from my eyelashes to my toenails. We got Kristen T. ready for the fun part of married life on Friday night. There may or may not still be some disturbing images in my head from that party. We then got Brandon and Laura Merrill's bar stocked on Saturday night. By the way- I loved the Blue Biscuit in Indianola- I must go back (I think I ate me body weight in fried green tomatoes, fried mushroons, and BBQ nachos). That party was then followed by an interesting bus ride back to Greenwood. There may or may not be some disturbing images in my head from that as well. Those crazy night's were followed by Kittrell's first trip to church Sunday morning, and a fantastic Sip and See for Kittrell that afternoon- with more great food and champagne!! I'm still exhausted. So glad Kittrell is being a good baby today and letting Mama lay around and catch up on some sleep!! Daniel and I apparently can't keep up with our friends like we used to. We are way out of practice!! And in true Lauren fashion, I toted my camera around with me all weekend and didn't take a single picture!

Ugh! I have a ton of stuff to unpack, and a lot of clothes to get washed, but I think I'm just going to inform Daniel and Ashlyn when they get home that doing all of that this afternoon is part of their chores. Hopefully they'll fall for it.

P.S.- Who's ready for this weekend!!??!!

Somebody's Ready For Some Football!

The Gown

No- not a dress. It's a "day gown". And so that's why Kittrell got to wear it and let me take pictures. There is a picture of me when I was a baby wearing it, there is a picture of Ashlyn when she was a baby wearing it, and now Kittrell gets to join the photo wall. (He's lucky I didn't make him wear the blue dress for the photo wall of my mom, my sister, me, and Ashlyn. Only Sofi will be joining that one.)

The Love Shack

Do you know what this is??
One big giant mess? Yes. Yes it is.

But, do you know what this is?
It's the beginning of our chicken coop. Finally! The Love Shack (or The Tin Roost, we haven't decided on a name yet) will be up and running soon!

I Got It!!!

Apparently, a lot of complaining gets you a new computer. I am in LOVE with it!

Here's what you missed-

Ashlyn's first day of 2nd grade!

Kittrell is 1 month old!!!

Sophi came to visit last weekend!!

Ashlyn wanted to show off her awesome new school shoes...

And our last day spent in the pool.

Holy crap. It only took like 2 seconds to download all of those pics. I've never been more excited in my whole life. No more stress in my life. Well aside from the 7 year old who knows it all and the 1 month old who sometimes likes to holler at me for no reason. Happy Friday, yall!

FYI

In case you haven't noticed, I haven't blogged in a while. I have to take a break, to keep myself from having a nervous breakdown and going outside and throwing my computer against a tree. I have a laptop from like the 1990's and it's soooo done. I have also decided no one is going to just show up at my door and hand me a new computer to play with. However, I'm certain that if I complain just a little bit more, Daniel will take me to Best Buy to get the fancy touch screen computer I've been wanting. Fingers crossed, people. Maybe this weekend I'll get my wish and I'll be back to blogging soon. Let's just hope Daniel doesn't find out about the online shopping I've been doing because that may count as one big strike against me. :)

Mohawk...

This Week's Wrap Up

Ashlyn's almost better than me at getting Kittrell to sleep.

I begged Ashlyn to watch Kittrell for me for a few minutes the other day so that I could get a quick shower in. When I got out, sweet Ashlyn was changing her little brother's diaper! Something she swore she would never do, she finally came around and went for it. She's such a big helper!

He's spoiled. He loves taking naps while lying on either me or Daniel.

Kittrell's new favorite hangout. People out in public like to stop and stare. But that's ok. Seriously, has no one ever seen a baby in a sling before? But then again, we do live where we do...

Kittrell and I went to check the mail yesterday and found a nice surprise! Laura Merrill, who has some serious skills and lots of patience (cause I've tried sewing before, and I know how much patience that takes) sent us one of her original Alex and Leo outfits of Kittrell. Super Cute. I can't wait for Kittrell to wear it next summer! (I think we need to make a trip to the beach, for some pictures with this outfit, don't you?)

Crazy!

Let's talk a bit about my crazy family. (Myself included) I warned Daniel before we got married that I was crazy and if he wanted to back out, then was the time to do it. Aside from my crazy/ beautiful daughter, Ashlyn, our new cat, Marina Katie Funcat, takes the crazy title for the month of July. (I decided to start handing out Craziest Family Member of the Month awards. Some would argue that if I decide to start handing out awards to my cat, that maybe I should get out of the house more often. But I love it here in Little Rock.) And no, I'm not crazy. Well, maybe just a little. Anyways, Ashlyn made it in a very close second place because of a lot of things. There was that time in the hospital 8 hours after giving birth to Kittrell, when Ashlyn asked me if I was getting enough sleep. I looked at her with a puzzled look on my face and she then told me her reason for asking was because I had really dark circles under my eyes. I'll get her back one day after she spends hours and hours in labor with my grandchildren. And I'm still on the lookout for a really good dark circle minimizer for my face. Also, there was another time recently when Ashlyn asked when I was going to get my hair fixed. Because when Daniel and I got married my hair was bright and beautiful- and now it's not. (Her words, not mine.) See- she's crazy. And I now have a new brighter blond hair-do. She's 7, after all, and 7 year olds do usually speak the truth. Now, here's the picture that put Marina over the top. Aside from climbing my curtains, tearing the tops off of her play balls, eating the bottom of my bed, having parties in her litter box and throwing kitty litter all over the bathroom, attacking any and all who pass her door walking down the hall (she's half ninja), and that funny little barking thing she does, she likes to climb the walls in the living room. I swear, I can't figure out what she's after. But it's CRAZY. And maybe even a little scary. But anyways, that's just a little of the craziness I get to deal with on a regular basis. Congrats, Marina Katie. You are officially the craziest thing in my life right now.

Swimming

Well, sort of. Genius me planned Kittrell's first trip in the pool with Ashlyn right around bottle time. So, he didn't stay in the water very long. But, this past Saturday morning was spent playing in the pool and enjoying some fresh air since it wasn't dreadfully hot outside for once. Yet today, it's 10 a.m. and the heat index is already 100 degrees. Craziness.
