Nutcracker

Ashlyn was absolutely wonderful in The Nutcracker!!! I got a few not so good photos... In my defense, this mama was watching her baby, video recording it for Daniel, and snapping away photos on my phone. My poor mom is technologically ignorant so I didn't get much help from her... Anyways, here you go!

Laundry

Well, I've got myself a new helper around the house. He especially likes helping with the laundry!

Tis the Season

Our tree is finally up! Ashlyn loves it, while Kittrell just wants to eat it. And Ninja Cat wants to climb it. We'll see how long this tree lasts...

Rainy Day Holiday

It's been a 'wear your pajamas all day' kind of day. When the storm rolled through earlier, it nocked our power out. It was out for a good hour, and little did I know, Ashlyn spent a good half of that hour with the fridge door open looking for a snack. Great....

Kittrell got a new toy! But he doesn't jump in it. He just chews on it. Whatever makes him happy, I guess...

Don't forget that tomorrow is Ashlyn's ballet!!!

30th

Happy Friday!  The husband left early this morning for a weekend at deer camp.  Let's hope he actually goes hunting. :)

Ash is at school, and Kittrell is in the floor trying to take his hat off that I'm making him wear.  I just think it's really cold in our house right now... You know how it goes-  if mama is cold, then the kids get bundled up also.

I'm packing up to head to Greenwood yet again.  Why?  For this chick's 30TH BIRTHDAY party.

Yep- 30th.  Where has time gone?

Her actual birthday is tomorrow, but if you see Jeannie out and about today or tomorrow, be sure to yell HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY to her.  She will just love it.  And I can say all I want about her, because I know for a fact that girl never gets on the computer- and has NEVER read my blog.

Happy Birthday, Jeannie!!

Past Few Days...

Busy weekend for us!  After an unexpected trip home Thursday, we were worn out by Sunday afternoon.  We had a beautiful funeral service for Mama Faye Friday morning.  No one can forget her funeral- it was on 11-11-11 at 11:00 a.m.  Neat?  I think so.

Friday night- even though I was exhausted- I had a blast celebrating Laura Merrill's!  Lusco's, Webster's and a late night fire pit at LM's house.  Which is fabulous, by the way.

Saturday, Ashlyn was in her cousin's wedding. She was BEAUTIFUL!
We had a bonfire and cookout at Spring Lake Saturday night.
I passed out from exhaustion early Saturday.
We woke up Sunday and went straight home- some of us still in our pj's.
Home to be lazy on my own couch. I'm still worn out!!

And guess what I got yesterday?? My new phone.  I LOVE it.
Don't quite know exactly how to work all of it, but I love it.

(Did I mention that I love it??)

Time Change

Before daylight savings time was over, at 6:30 a.m. I would be curled up on the couch, drinking coffee, watching the news while Kittrell slept.

Now? Not so much.

The sun's up, so Kittrell's up.

There just went my mornings.

But it's no so bad- I've been in bed every night this week by 8:30.  Anyone else exhausted at 6:00?  Darkness- too soon.  I've been starting on dinner at about 5 every night, because I know I'm passing out soon after that.  I even missed Sons last night, and from what I hear, it was a good episode!  I hope I'm over this by the weekend.  I have a late night ahead of me Friday....

Updates...

Isn't that a super cute face to start your day off with?  Kittrell has started eating vegetables this past week.  I've had a lot of vegetables in my hair, all over my clothes, etc.  As you can see above, Kittrell thought I was insane when I fed him his first peas.  He enjoyed spitting them out all over his bib- and all over me.  The next day, he had carrots, and as you can see, he actually ate most of those.  I did not have carrots in my hair.  He had green beans yesterday and shook all over with terror when I fed him those.  He did not like the green beans.  Today he gets to try squash.  Fingers crossed I won't need another shower after his lunch.  Hopefully we'll find something he loves soon!!!

Saturday.  What do we usually do on Saturdays?  Football and cookouts at the Cooper's.  Ashlyn made her LSU sign to wave around during the game.  It must have worked!!

Funny story.  The kids were all inside playing and the adults were hanging out outside.  I went inside to check on things and Ashlyn informed me that they were discussing the fact that Selena Gomez is pregnant.  Oh dear.  "She's not pregnant, Ashlyn."  "But I heard on Kidd Kraddock (spelling??) the other morning that Justin Beiber is going to be a dad."  (Daniel and Ashlyn listen to that radio show every morning.)  Daniel said he heard that and immediately turned the radio down, so she wouldn't hear the rest of the story.  Well that obviously didn't work out to our advantage.  "Ashlyn, all you need to know is that no one is pregnant, Justin and Selena are still dating, every one is fine, and there are some crazy crazy people in the world who will say anything to get attention."  I'm sure I only confused her even more....  I really hope she's not at school right now discussing pregnancy and fatherhood with her classmates.

Looks like we will be shopping for chickens soon!  Daniel is off work Thursday and Friday this week, so I'm sure The Tin Roost will be just about done after then.

And last but not least, the thing that's keeping me going this week.   (Not my only motivation for the week but I can't lie- it's a pretty big one.)  I can't tell you how long it's been since I've been home- having a girl's night.  I. CAN'T. WAIT.  (Another big motivator for the week-  C Spire getting the Iphone 4s Friday, and yours truly getting one!!  Well, getting one eventually- I'm sure that a million other people have pre ordered theirs, too.  So we'll see how long it takes for mine to be delivered.)

Halloween Fun

Our skeleton bride.

(I told Ash that skeletons don't usually smile..)

Our day outfit...

His shocked face when I took his paci out of his mouth...

He loved his Sweet Pea costume!

Seriously- that is entirely too much candy.

Halloween was so much fun at our house!  Ashlyn was super excited all day.  After school, she ran in, did her chores faster than I've ever seen, and the face painting began!  I got the kids ready, Daniel came home, then we all headed to Decatur to the 'Treat Street Bash' to meet up with the Cooper's and do some trick-or-treating.  And now I'm home all day every day with a huge pile of candy staring me in the face every time I walk into the living room.  I hope this doesn't affect the scale on Friday morning...

On another note, yesterday was spent in Meridian.  Actually I had to go twice.  Maybe I should just get an apartment there.  It's not a long drive at all, I guess I just like to complain about it.  Kittrell had his 4 month check up (and shots).  So my day went like this-  doctor, shots, screaming baby, drive across town to Sonic to eat and feed Kittrell a bottle, screaming baby (bless his heart), trip to Wal- Mart for a humidifier ( he's got a runny nose), nap for Kittrell (finally), drive home, screaming baby, clean house, screaming baby with 101 degree fever, forgot to get anything out for dinner so it's either a hot pocket or easy mac, still sick baby, drive BACK to Meridian for ballet practice, sit in car and read for an hour, drive back to Little Rock, so so sleepy, home to feed one more bottle to Kittrell, finally he's asleep!, Sons of Anarchy with the husband, finally pass out in the bed (slept in Kittrell's room with him), ninja cat kept barging in, finally caught said cat with help of the husband and threw her outside, back to the bed to pass out again.

I'm starting to think a job wouldn't be such a bad idea....

Happy Birthday to Kiki and Meme!!!!!!!
