Thoughts for Thursday

Anyone else still mourning the loss of such a great guy on Sons of Anarchy Tuesday night? Me too, and I really don't even follow that show too much.

I don't know about you, but I think Herman Cain is looking better and better with each passing day....

I love my bacon. I love anything wrapped in bacon. I may or may not have had about 4 pieces for breakfast this morning. If this shortage comes anywhere near me, we are going to have major problems. You have been warned.

Thank you, Lord, for bringing the refs back. I don't watch the NFL, but I could make better calls than those replacements. Plus, I am so over seeing it all over the news every morning. Now let's get back to normal, shall we?

Oh and just to throw it in there, we're making hot tamales in class tonight. I really hope there are leftovers!

You know you watch too much kid's TV when you know all the words to every Fresh Beat Band song. Random, I know. But they just came on and I sang along. Wow.

Really wishing the cool Fall air would show up. I wanna wear boots.

And I'll leave you with a picture of Kittrell in one of his man shirts. No pants. Just a shirt. Because that is how he wanted things to go.

HUGE Thanks

Just wanted to give a little shout out and thank Ashlyn's teacher for sending a CD full of English 'jingles' home with her the other day. It has been playing in my car- on the way to school, on the way home from school, for 2 days straight now. Thanks. I really enjoy hearing about pronouns, conjunctions, etc. Thanks so much. Hate to say it, but you probably just lost yourself one really good Christmas gift this year. And please, as much as I have been ENJOYING it, don't you ever send another CD home with her again. Ever.

Truth

Ashlyn is "her Daniel's daughter". She just had to have music on the other day when she was studying. When I walked back into the living room, this was the station she picked. "It's my favorite, Mom. I can't listen to anything else.". Well done, Ashlyn.

What's Been Happening...

So, obviously I've been not blogging lately. I have 2 excuses- I've been busy, and I've been sick. Tom was here, then Jeannie was home, I went all out for like 5 days straight. I found out I'm way to old for that mess.... And I've been running fever and napping with a headache for what's going on 8 days straight now. Major bummer. But I'm getting used to it all, so I'm totally fine. I'm pretty sure I have West Nile, but I'm fine. Wear your mosquito repellent, people. You don't want to end up like me.

You know I haven't been medically diagnosed with anything- in fact I'm taking antibiotics now that aren't working because I have the West Nile. This is just me rambling on. The antibiotics don't work, but I have found that a glass of wine sure does. Remember that if this happens to you!!

I thought it was best to type up a blog update, seeing as how Jeannie threatened to stop reading my blog all together if I didn't write something soon. She text threatened me while I had West Nile. Can you believe that?? (again- not medically diagnosed)

So, back to what's been happening-

Jeannie was home! But now she's gone :( I foresee a trip to L.A. In my future... But only if I win the lottery, first.

Kittrell has continued to be his adorable self. He even rocked the Mohawk one day. But it involved hairspray, and Daniel put his foot down.

Ashlyn is just being Ashlyn. Sneaky, wanna be a teenager Ashlyn. Lord help me!

The 300 Oaks race was this past weekend. Ashlyn really wanted to make signs like we did for the Viking half marathon. So we made one for Laura Merrill. For Ashlyn to hold up. While I worked. But it's ok that I didn't get to run/walk. Seeing as how I have West Nile and all. (haven't been medically diagnosed).

There was also an afternoon of golf for me and Daniel. I didn't play much- didn't want to make the West Nile worse than it already is. (no medical diagnoses here!)

I guess if I'm still feeling ick tomorrow I'm taking my butt back to the doctor to figure this mess out. 8 days straight. This really stinks. I'll keep you updated.

Here's some photos, and let's hope I wake up in the morning refreshed and well. Happy rainy Monday!

2 Things Everyone Should Know

#1 Flat tire? Call Tom and Daniel. If you can't duck it... Well, you know the saying. #redneck

#2 Tom is a lot of fun. Daniel,Tom and I together at Giardina's order wonderful food, and you should try your best to be at the table next to us when we share. Just saying. Oh yeah, rockin the fencepost. Oh yeah again, When you go to Giardina's, you better hope Brandon is working. Because he is awesome.

Hola

It's been a while, hasn't it? I've been super busy. For real. My home is just bustling with visitors this week. Jeannie will be home tonight, and Tom is hanging out with us now. Southern hospitality at its best. Mine and Daniel's friend Tom from far away is passing through town, staying on our couch last night and tonight. Maybe if the heat doesn't scare us off we can go for a round of golf later?

Anywho, who wants to see pictures from this past week?? Yeah, I figured you did. Enjoy!

In an effort to keep Kittrell out of the dog's drinking water, Daniel filled a small cooler full of water for Kittrell to play with.  And then he literally got into it.  Funny kid.
Got my broom stick, not now let's play in the dog water...
Date night with my girl.  We LOVE Mexican.  A lot.  And I love margaritas.  A lot.
Watch out, now.  Here comes the next Justin Bieber.
You like my broom stick?  I have a ton of toys, but I'd much rather have this broom stick.
Funny story-  Ashlyn had a social studies poster due today.  It was all about her community.  She had to have a picture of her favorite place in her community, and this was it.  That girl- she loves her Mexican food.
Justin Bieber hat.  OMG.  She wears that thing to bed every night.
Sofi came to visit this past weekend!! She and Kittrell played so good together!!
It is HOT outside!
Enough pictures, Mom.
Ashlyn, our future chef, cooked steaks for us Friday night.  I think I could get used to this.
