Kittrell had his 2 month check up yesterday. Which of course means shots. Which as all mothers know, is completely heartbreaking! The doctor also told me to go ahead and start feeding Kittrell some oatmeal or rice, and some bananas or apples. Sure! I thought... We went straight to the store when we left the doctor to buy baby food, bowls and spoons. After Daniel and Ashlyn got home, we got Kittrell all ready and started to feed him. We started with oatmeal. He hated it. He kept looking at me like I was torturing him- the same look he gave me earlier in the day when he wanted me to stop the painful shots. We then switched to the bananas and he finally came around to the idea of eating from a spoon. This morning, though, when I fed him the same thing for breakfast, it's like he forgot that we had gone through this last night. The screaming and "torture" had begun all over again. He eventually came around to it, again, though. I'm anxious to see what happens tonight!
All about my life with my soul mate, my 8- going on 18 year old daughter, my oh- so- happy 1 year old son, and our 'tripawd' dog, Abel.

Labor Day
With the weather that was going on outside, my family had a very lazy Labor Day. Kittrell and I wore our P.J.'s all day. I think that really confused the poor little guy. And we napped. All. Day. Long. It was FANTASTIC!
Of course, I did find the time to cook some oh so good fresh baked doves. And thanks to Daniel, we can cook a lot more baked doves this year! (we so filled up the freezer...) Yay!
The Camp...
Ok, so I may have figured out why men love their hunting camps so much. It's gotta be the food! (at least I'd like to think that's the reason..) I tagged along with Daniel and all the men after our dove hunt to the hunting camp. An awesome hunting camp, at that. We got to watch some football ( I still feel bad for Ole Miss!) and what else? EAT!

Tin kitchen? Yes, please!
I really liked this guy...
Can we say "fresh cut tuna"?!
It keeps getting better and better and better!

We had sushi, grilled tuna, pan seared tuna, some of the best grilled shrimp I've ever eaten in my life, and pasta. I need to find out when these guys are cooking again, because I swear I think I'm just gonna show up. (If I can remember how to get out to the camp, that is.)
Dove Hunt!!
I feel as though I've been slacking on the blogging. I promise to get better. Daniel informed me that I should be blogging every single day since he bought me the new computer... I'll try! This past weekend was one of my favorite weekends that happens every year. Dove season! Dove hunting is the only hunting this girl will do. Well, actually I mostly just enjoy the adult beverages and call doves when I see them, but hey- somebody's gotta do it! It's too cold to hunt ducks and deer, and sometimes too hot for turkeys- but dove season come with the perfect weather so I always participate.
I got to hang out by this old house.. Creepy? Na...
Necessities.... and feathers
Yes, I clean doves!
I'm still finding feathers in my Sequoia...

Friday! Friday! Friday!
Our party was super great. Ashlyn got to ring her cowbell a whole lot!! And my chicken balls? (ha) They were great! I suggest you try them. You can get the recipe from my Pinterest page. On my food pinboard. Just click on it and follow the link there. (I suggest more hot sauce, though.) Anywho, It's Friday! Football returns and dove season opens all in the same weekend?? Wow, we're lucky. Way down here at our house, it's supposed to start raining tomorrow ( from the dang tropical storm in the gulf). Hopefully the rain won't reach the delta until after Daniel kills us a lot of yummy doves to cook. We'll see! Happy Labor Day weekend, yall!

Thank Heavens!!
Mississippi State football returns TONIGHT!!! Good thing- because I have waited long enough!
We are soooo having a party! I'm gonna try to cook some Buffalo Chicken Bites that I found while searching around Pinterest. And Ashlyn wants some cheese. She's so easy to please. Good thing she's been kissing up to me and Daniel and finally got herself un-grounded. When we mentioned having no TV meant not getting to watch the game tonight, she was devastated. But she quickly began doing right again- plus I just don't have the heart to take football away from her!
Kittrell has been enjoying his mobile lately. We are so happy that he's finally paying attention to things more, and playing and laughing. (Which also means he doesn't sleep as much during the day- so more time sleeping at night for Mama and Daddy!)
Here's some pictures of him playing this morning! (And properly dressed in his game day attire, of course!)
