Thoughts for the Day

How's your Monday going? Kittrell and I are having a stay in, clean house, and be a little lazy day. Except Kittrell isn't picking up on my whole lazy vibe. I just asked him of he was ready for his nap and he ran in the opposite direction. I'll take that as a no.

On another note, did anyone else see Facebook last night? Talking about the weather channel never mentioning MS in this whole hurricane conversation? Well, I have enjoyed watching The Weather Channel today. I've already heard them say MS like 1000 times. Oh, the power of Facebook.

Also, am I the only one obsessed with Real Housewives of New Jersey? Should I even be admitting that publicly? That show is so horrible that it's good. That show shouldn't even be on TV. But then again, what would I do without it? #mixedemotions

You see that hash tag up there? Yeah, I've started doing that. Because I have expanded my instagram usage to following people/ being followed. And apparently, people hash tag talk on instagram. Well, goodness, don't let me miss out on all the hash tag madness!!

I guess that's enough ranting for one day- I've got some ironing to do!! And 10 dozen rolls to make. Oh joy!

P.S.- Kittrell won't share the remote anymore. It's not fair.

Looks like....

We're going to need a bigger pool. And we need to find a way to keep Kittrell out of the cooler. And I need to order myself one of those emergency buttons older people wear around their necks for when I go running. Just in case.

Life

Well, it's official. School is back in full swing which means Ashlyn is in a bad mood every morning when I wake her up. She loves school, so why on earth does she hate me every morning for waking her! I swear she growled at me the other day. Gee, I can't wait for high school with this one. Said no mom ever. On another note, I finally found something other than blueberries and chicken nuggets that Kittrell will eat. Nutella. On a whole wheat waffle. We do have to wake up 30 minutes earlier because he makes a mess and that mess has to be cleaned by 7:20 so we can rush to sit on the car pool line at Pillow. Yay for carpool! Not really. I had peanut butter on my waffles so hopefully I won't pass out on my run this morning. We shall see!

Meet Belle. And No- I'm Not Dead, Yet.

I'm happy to report that the running has not killed me, yet.  I couldn't walk straight at work yesterday, and hope no one noticed, but other that that soreness I'm doing good!  Our Monday afternoon run walk got rained out.  Technically, the rain was out of here by 7 and I could have gone, but I was already in my pajamas by that time.  Tuesday was day 1.  We traveled a total of 1.6 miles in which we walked a block and ran jogged pretty slowly a block.  I cursed Daniel quite a few times.  I think I only get mad because he doesn't seem to be gasping for air and hurting as much as I do.  Showoff. When we got back to our driveway, all I wanted to do was lay down and cry.  But there was a lot of traffic going by our house, and thought that might embarrass my family (and myself) quite a bit.   Well, Wednesday was day 2.  We did the same route again.  I completed the mission.  Still couldn't breathe, but I've gotta do it!  While almost home, I noticed a much older man, wearing tall white socks, what I could've sworn to be loafers on his feet, some shorts, and his shirt in his hand, running by.  Did you get all that?  Here I am dying, and he's this older 'snazzy' dressed man showing off his running skills. Showoff.  Don't like a showoff.  But would appreciate it if showoff would put his shirt back on.   Well, actually, if said man can do it.... then surely I can??  Run, that is.  Not run without a shirt on.  I'm not running without a shirt on.  You're welcome.

Sofi's first day of school!  She's just precious!
We gave Kittrell a fork last night with his squash and told him to go for it.  And he went for it, all right.  Still finding squash seeds in the strangest places.
Meet Belle.  She was a sweetie hanging out at the animal shelter when we went by to drop off some dog and cat food the other day.
And here she is after we brought her home on a trial basis-  she got a hair cut, some shots, and she's good to go!
Looks like sweet Belle is going to be staying at the Smith house from now on.  Abel seems to really like her!

Back!

Thought I'd get back to blogging, seeing as how all of the housework has been caught up.  A vacation post will be along shortly... there are pictures spread out amongst several phones and cameras.  I'll get them all together, soon! But in the meantime, check out those mountains up there!

We're getting Ashlyn ready for school- it starts Wednesday.  And she's in 3rd grade.  Can't even believe it.

And she's all ready for dancing.  And hip- hop class.  And gymnastics.  In case you are wondering, no.  I will have no money left after all of these tuition costs.  If you need anyone to mow your yard, please call Daniel.  You didn't think I was going to mow your yard, did you?  Daniel won't charge you much.

It's day 1 of cleanse diet time for me.  And I've already failed.  You honestly can't expect me to NOT have me daily dose of almonds and eggs.  Because I eat eggs and almonds every day.  And I will never give them up.  Now it's just a patient wait until the husband gets home so we can go on our run walk.  Funny story-

me- "We need to get online and sign up for 300 Oaks."
Daniel- "Ok.  They have a 10k."
me- "I was actually talking about walking in the 5k."
Daniel- "Well if I'm doing 300 Oaks, I'm running.  And we're doing it together."
me- "But I don't run.  I can't run.  It hurts."
Daniel- "If you can run a mile, then you can run 3 miles.  And if you can run 3 miles, you can run 6 miles.  So we'll run the 10k."

[Side note- this man has LOST HIS MIND.]

me- "But I can't even run 1 mile."
Daniel- "Sure you can."
me- "I  hate you."
Daniel- "Ok, we'll run the 5k.  We'll start running Monday."

So, if you find me laying on the side of the road, please pick me up and drop me off at my doorstep.  I would really appreciate it.

And cheer me on while I run (and probably walk some) in my FIRST EVER 5K next month!

Apparently, my kitchen's not going to clean itself.... I was really counting on that to get done while I was on the computer.  Dang.

Happy Monday- hopefully I'll be back with another blog again soon, if the running walking doesn't kill me.
