1 month and 18 days early....

Happy Anniversary, Lauren and Daniel!
Why thank you, Lauren and Daniel!
(Get it? We bought ourselves our anniversary gift for each other a little early- we only like to make big purchases for the home for special occasions, and our anniversary just so happens to be coming up..)

Now we have got to do some serious decorating on this front porch... and I am no designer.. so needless to say, I don't know where to begin..

PIZZA!!!

I knew I entered the crazy phase of my pregnancy a long time ago, and it only keeps getting worse. I dreamed ALL night long about eating pizza. ALL NIGHT. Nothing but pizza. I did finally eat CC's Pizza in Meridian a couple of weeks ago and fell in love. I remember when I still lived in Greenwood, getting ready to make the big move down here, Mary Neff told me I was pretty lucky because we had a CC's Pizza. Well, it took me this long to finally try it, and man, have I been missing out. I'm sure I was getting on Daniel's last nerve because with every bite I would say, "OH MY GOSH! Why have I never eaten here!!!!!" I knew I wanted to go back ASAP and eat again, but I didn't realize until last night just how bad. I mean really, who dreams about sitting in a booth eating pizza all night long??? And did I mention they have the absolute best desserts known to man? I was just wanting to scream out, "DAMN!" after I tried them. I need to go back and eat up while I still can, because we all know food like that will not be allowed at all after Kittrell gets here! Also, if you can't tell I pregnant after reading this post, then I don't know what your problem is! Only I would dream about eating pizza all night long!!

At 4a.m......

We were here.... where were you?

Ashlyn was having fun reading books by the candlelight, I was miserable listening to the roof blow off the house. (And yes- that is my purse. I make sure when tornadoes come, everyone is dressed, has on shoes, and I have my purse and cell phone with me. Seeing as how this storm blew in out of no where in exactly .02 seconds, I didn't have enough time to pack an extra outfit in a tote bag for everyone like I always do. I like to be prepared.)

And then, at 6a.m., this is a little of what we found... a sure sign that we were meant to stay home today- Ashlyn's school is closed, so she gets to stay home again. Let me re-phrase that; she HAS to stay home as she says, because she is the only child I know who would rather be in school.
I didn't like that tree anyway. I've been wanting Daniel to cut it down. So the storm just did me a favor. Too bad Daniel had to spend his morning cutting it up and moving it out of the way.

Anyone Else SO Over the Weather??

It was a nice, long 4 day weekend for me and Ashlyn. We left last Thursday after a tornado blew through our area (in which I was home alone having a damn heart attack). And now we are back home getting back into the swing of things getting ready for even more tornadoes to come this afternoon, tonight, and tomorrow. Just great.

Easter was so nice! And I got me a big ole serving of creamed potatoes Sunday for lunch. It was Heavenly. I think the Easter bunny thought it was Christmas judging by all the fun stuff he left for Ashlyn. Aside from the ants trying to get all of her Easter eggs, I'd say the day turned out quite nice. Oh, and me consuming my body weight in jelly beans made the weekend even better. And, let's not forget the yummy pounds and pounds and pounds of crawfish I had at Webster's Saturday. I'm ready for next year!!

On another note, did anyone see Dancing with the Stars last night? Hanson. Really? I had the remote up ready to switch the TV over to Antiques Roadshow when I heard Tom say, " and here with their #1 hit MMMBop, Hanson!" I do believe I laughed out loud. That also answered my question about whether or not they still existed. Not that I ask myself that question often or anything. I called to make sure my sister was watching/ hearing this because I know she was/ is a huge fan. And then, afterwards, Tom went on to say that they would be back on the show tomorrow night with a song off of their new album. Ha. New album. That's funny. Funny that these guys actually still do exist. I wish I could find my old Hanson CD for Ashlyn to listen to. But they all have short hair now- it's just not the same. However, all this Hanson drama I was having in my head suddenly made sense when I found out it was guilty pleasures night on DWTS. BURN. They weren't asked to be on the show because of their amazing talent. That made me laugh out loud even louder.

Time to go get my house back in order before the storms hit. Since it will be raining the next 2 days, Daniel stayed outside till super late last night mowing the yard and getting the garden ready. Check out the future home of the Smith garden-

Well, at the end of the week, I'm sure it will just be a big muddy mess, but maybe this weekend Daniel and I can start planting some vegies!

And the thunder rolls....

Finally Friday! (For me, at least)

It's been a long, crazy week. I've been having so much fun on Pinterest. Although, I find myself "repinning" more than actually "pinning" things myself. When I have more time on my hands, I suppose. Let me just go ahead and state that while browsing through the pinterest website, I often think to myself, "Why didn't I think of that?" And other times, in reference to awesome outdoor lounging areas, I often wonder if these people have snakes and spiders in their yards.

On another note, Daniel and I bought each other our anniversary present early. Wrought iron patio furniture. Love it. It's green though. But the price was awesome. And the lady at the antique store told me, "10% off if you buy it today." I so took her up on that offer. We will probably be sanding and painting one day in the future. Black just seems to make more sense to me. But we'll see. I might just find the perfect outdoor rug to put on the porch under the table that will make the green look awesome. So, like I said, we'll see!

Oh yeah- and on yet another note, I have learned this week that blogging about something I really want actually does pay off. Like earlier this week I mentioned wanting to get a maternity swim suit while in Meridian Tuesday. While we were in the waiting room at the doctor's office, Daniel turned to me and said, "So you want to go to the mall when we leave here to get your swim suit?" He's such a good little blog follower. Cause I never even mentioned it to him. He's great! And I am now the proud new owner of a super cute swim suit and swim suit cover up. :)

Here's is a picture of Ashlyn's finished Earth Day poster. (and my messy dining room table) With that said, Happy Earth Day one day early!

Daniel left us yesterday to go to deer camp for the rest of the week, so Ashlyn and I have been spending some much needed girl time together! (and I really hope all this rain goes ahead and moves out of here so Daniel can actually do the hunting and fishing he went to do! He was so excited- and this darn rain has to ruin everything!) I'm getting ready to get packed up, find Abel and persuade him to get in the car with me because this time we actually aren't going to the vet, pick up Ash from school, and head to Greenwood for the weekend! Well, if it's not raining too bad, we will still head home this afternoon- if it is raining too bad, we may just wait till in the morning. I'm looking forward to a fun filled Easter weekend, with a Sunday full of mashed potatoes, french fries, and potato chips. (I gave up potatoes for lent, and didn't even have them on Sundays- so I AM READY!)

I'm sure I will see a lot of you Saturday at Webster's!

Happy Weekend!!!

It's gonna be a busy week...

It's turning out to be quite a busy Monday- which will be followed by a very busy week for us. I often wonder why it's so hard for me to get up and get going on Monday mornings. They are just like any other day for me, but I guess I hear how much other people hate Mondays so I start to hate them too. I've got the dining room table covered in newspaper, waiting on Ashlyn to get home to start on her Earth Day poster. She asked me to buy all sorts of glitters and glues and paints, but she also has no concept of money.; So, I got her a poster, glue, and some peach paint (that was the one thing she just HAD to had) plus free range over both of my craft drawers. I have TONS of old craft stuff- anywhere from glitter to lace to buttons to glue pens to paint to markers. Some of it is from years and years ago that I never got rid of because one day I just might need it. (No- I do not consider myself to be a hoarder, because look! That one day has arrived). I can't wait to see how Ashlyn's poster turns out. However the judging goes, I know hers will be the best! Plus- I still remember that time she got robbed of first place in the turkey contest at school- the judges just don't know art if it slapped them in the face.

Also- yall remember to think about Ashlyn tomorrow. It's her 1st grade school play!! "So You Think You Can Dance, Country Edition". Yes- she does go to a bit of a country school.. and it shows with the choice of their school play. Anyways, all I've heard for the last month is Ash singing "pop it, lock it, polka dot it...."( a Hannah Montana song) I finally told Ashlyn yesterday that Daniel and I wanted to be surprised at the play so to go outside and practice by herself, and sing to herself. Don't judge me for saying that. She literally walks in the door after school every day singing and dancing, and I just need a small break. We all know that just because the play will be over and done tomorrow, doesn't mean the singing and dancing will stop!

Daniel and I have our last monthly doctor's appointment tomorrow. Now we get to go every 2 weeks.. which means it's getting closer to time to meet Kittrell! Hopefully, while in Meridian, we can find me a maternity swim suit- because my pre- pregnancy ones just don't work anymore- AND we have the water park to start going to!!

It seems like just yesterday we were all sitting around talking about how late Easter was this year, and it's already here! I am very much looking forward to Greenwood later this week- and crawfish at Webster's on Saturday!

Have a good week, and Happy Passover!

Fantastic Sunday

I woke up this morning, checked my email, and BAM! There was my invite to join Pinterest. Just like all the blogs I follow who mention it and say it's addictive, well, they were right.  I LOVE it.  Something else for me to keep up with- yes, BUT it's a fun thing to keep up with!  I'm just now getting started, and have already pinned a few things, but I can't wait to add more and more to my many Pinterest boards.  You can check them out here.  And if you see anything on any of my boards that I need and you have that you don't want, I'll take them off your hands.  Just call me.  So, so far it's been a fantastic Sunday.  The husband is frying up the fish he caught yesterday, and I just heard the guy on TV say, "Gentlemen, start your engines!", so I'm going to finish the day eating good food, watching the race at Talladega (yes- i watch Nascar!) and maybe doing some more pinning.
I'll leave you with a pic I took yesterday of the beautiful honeysuckle growing behind our house.  Have a great rest of the weekend!

SO excited!

I am pumped.
Ashlyn and I spent the afternoon yesterday in Philadelphia getting our season passes to Geyser Falls activated.  I don't think Ash knew what this water park was all about until we turned onto Black Jack Road and she could see the big water slides.  (She was disappointed, though, because you just can't see ANYTHING from the front gate- and she was wanting to take a quick tour) But, the park opens tomorrow! ( sadly, Ashlyn won't be here, so we have to wait a couple weeks- but April 30 will be spent at the water park!)  We definitely plan to go quite often- I will just play the role of "beached whale" and lay on the beach while Ashlyn plays.  Daniel gets to go with us a few times to take Ashlyn on the big water slides.  If you find yourself bored this summer, call us and we can all go to Geyser Falls!  I already can't wait till next summer so I can enjoy some water slides myself!  Well, I said we were going to go often, but actually just as often as we can afford, because, of course, 'no outside food or drink allowed', and things inside the park are not cheap!
Anyways, I just wanted to brag to you Delta folks, because I have season passes to a water park and yall don't! AND I live 30 minutes from a water park and yall don't!   But seriously, come visit us anytime!

(p.s.- have I mentioned Sugarland at Golden Moon June 24th? Only 30 minutes away...:)

Funny Thoughts...

seriously teared up I was laughing so hard......@Christina Love @Amanda Clay @Manderly Ringor

Just in case you missed it, #2 says, "Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong."  Daniel feels that way ALL the time. :)

On another note, I have hopped on the Pinterest bandwagon.  Just waiting on my email, so I can get started!

A Morning Spent Shopping

Procrastinate.  It's what I do.
Even though I live in the middle of nowhere, I will not let that keep me from shopping!  Thank goodness for the internet.  Easter is sneaking up on us, my friends, and it is time to get Ashlyn an Easter dress.  Kohls is having a sale (WooHoo!) and here is what I found for her-
Emily West Plaid Seersucker Sundress
SO Colorblock Maxi Dress
(the purple/ blue/ teal one)

:) I'm proud of my shopping accomplishments for the day.

Parenting Lessons...

ALWAYS BE PREPARED

Daniel and I never have cash. Who has cash these days? We got cash out of the ATM before River to the Rails, but of course, we spent it all.  We came home yesterday with no cash, but we don't need any, right?  We have everything we need at home.  Also- remember- we live 20-30 minutes from everything.  Including ATMs.  NO CASH.
Guess what Ashlyn did last night before bed?
Pulled another tooth.  :)
When Ashlyn got up this morning, she found a lot of change in her tooth fairy pillow...

Fancy...

While we were home for the weekend, Ashlyn got to go to one of her oldest best friend's birthday party- it was a "Fancy Nancy" party- Ashlyn looked great!!

Caterpillar Drama

It's that time of year.  Caterpillars everywhere.  Yesterday afternoon, Ashlyn wanted to put a caterpillar in her critter catcher to keep as a pet.  So, we caught the bug and surrounded it with leaves.  I figured that's all it would need to survive.  Ashlyn wanted to take the caterpillar to school, but I told her to ask her teacher, first.  I went outside earlier to do some sunnin' and stopped to check on Abbigail (caterpillar #1's name).  Abbigail wasn't moving.  And she still hasn't moved in about 3 hours.  Oops.  Knowing that Ashlyn had gone to school to seek permission from her teacher to bring her new pet to school Friday, I thought to myself, "Well, hell."  Lucky for Ashlyn, I am the best mom ever!  You would have thought I was crazy if you had come to my house today.  I was walking around all greased up with tanning oil- showing no shame in my larger size- wearing an old swim suit that's gettin kinda small.  Hunting for a damn caterpillar to replace Abbigail.  And Ta- Da! Meet Carli.  I just hope she survives the night unlike her twin Abbigail.

For me, not you

Today's post is for me- but I'll share it with you.  I was over at Decorating the Elevator and came across the 100 workout.  It kinda made me excited.  After clicking on one link, then another, I ended up with these little happies.  So, I'm posting them so I will have them in a few months when my working out gets serious.  The web page I ended up on, though, is definitely not one for a big pregnant girl to look at!  Daniel and I are gonna start major workouts after Kittrell arrives.  I really wanna start running.  I've never been a runner, so now is as good a time as ever to start, right? Apparently, walking just doesn't do anything for me. My doctor seems to be getting disappointed.  But seriously! I think I was just meant to gain weight while I'm with child.  It's all good, though.  Because I totally remember how into working out I was after having Ashlyn, and I already have that same motivation- just waiting on the big delivery day, then let the workouts begin! (after I get the ok from the doctor, of course- unfortunately, we don't live in Pine Vally or Landview where you have a baby one day and a flat belly the next.)  I'm so ready for Kittrell's arrival, and I'm so ready to be able to bend over and touch my toes without squishing the little guy!
